Python regius is a python species found in Africa. It is also known as royal python. The name "royal python" comes from the fact that rulers in Africa would wear the python as jewelry. In some regions of their home continent, it is considered symbolic of the earth, being an animal that travels so close to the ground.
The Story of Python Regius started in 2013, when the formation of 6 musicians gathered to create a new band and started to work out a whole new concept of melodic black metal inspired by modern and also early incarnations of dark and epic heavy metal compositions. Taking all their experience from their former musical work to unite in one unique sound and style, Python Regius entered the Udio Media Studio Vienna (Krimh, Devastating Enemy) in early 2014 to record their debut full length album called Orior under the supervision and conduction of producer Norbert Leitner. Design and cover artwork for Orior would be attributed by Darkgrove Custom Graphics Studio Jan Örkki Yrlund, who already worked together with big acts such as Manowar, Michael Schenker, Apocalyptica, HolyHell and many more. Yrlund is also known for playing with his symphonic metal band Imperia.
Regarding the babylonian history brought up into a contemporary context Orior approaches individual social problems and difficulties arising from a misleading economic and political leadership. With their first musical offspring Python Regius is now ready to spread their message all over the world.
