Ghostrider was born in 1984 when Mark Peso (Drum), Fuckin’Clod (Guitar), Ingo Veleno (Voice) e Peter Volcano (bass) gave birth to one of the first expression of Italian Black Metal. A mix of suonds from Venom, Hellhammer, Onslaught, Bathory with a bit of Thrash/Speed of the first period, Destruction style. The first song written from the Italian quartet is the brutal “Exorcist”. On the wings of enthusiasm the band quickly produced its first demo tape called “Mayhemic Destruction” which gained credit in the underground local metal scene. Ghostrider left some more inedit material roughly recorded in their own rehearsal studio. In this tape one can find two brand new songs, Black Archangel and Ride For Your Life, and some covers. In 1985 Ghostrider changed their name into Necrodeath, this change of moniker and music style left Ghostrider a nostalgic memory for all the fans of Italian Black Metal. After 25 years Ghostrider it’s still a name which bring curiosity and interest in many metal-heads, proof of this is that when FOAD records re-published “Mayhemic Destruction” on vinyl, it went quickly sold out. This is one of the main reasons that gave Peso the idea of bringing Ghostrider back from the grave after such a long time with a renewed line up: Peso (Drum), Helvete (Voice and Bass) e Zarathos (Guitar and Backup voice). Ghostrider started working immediately on a new LP entitled “The Return of the Ghost” coming out on January 2011.
