It was end of 2005 before christmas when Vasstago met Magdalena and we decided to found the band and name the project "Tears Of Magdalena".
The whole idea for the name "Tears Of Magdalena" was that WOMAN will do all composing because as you know, church has always displaced women and Magdalena pseudonym comes from her real name "Lena". "Tears Of Magdalena" describes Magdalenas composing work born inside her sensitive and emotional heart.
We thought it would be wonderful to join Vasstagos throat voice with Magdalenas dramatic soprano voice and make brilliant powerful melodic gothic & fantasy metal.
Finally beginning of 2006 Magdalena had bought home-studio equipment ( Logic Pro Digital Audio Workstation for the MAC) and Magdalena started to study to use it. In same time Vasstago started to do first drafts of lyrics for Magdalena and she started to do immediately song drafts in her home studio. We had a lot of ideas for songs & lyrics.
Then we got a lot of songs to started to make a demo but we didnt know yet the best ones for recordings. Finally we started to record our demo partly in Magdalenas home studio and the drums in the D-studio and we put our songs in the internet and quite soon different labels asked us more songs but we had not good songs more for album ready and so Magdalena and Vasstago had to rush to finish their eight best songs for album. Finally Scarlet Records offered us the contract an we chose to accept it.
So we got to the E-major studio to record our debut Album. Our sound-engineer well know Mr. Tero "TeeCee" Kinnunen (Nightwish) started to record our stuff. Drums we did record in Sonic Pump studios (Stratovarius) by "TeeCee". After our hard work we were proud of the sounds of and were ready for summer vacation.
During summer the biggest label from japan Marquee Avalon were interested of our music and they wanted to release it in japan, so we went back to the studio to record bonus-song called "October rust" of course honoring the season of the releasing time.
Finally our debut album were released in Japan and in Europe 20.10.2008 and in Finland 07.11.2008...ALL SONGS WRITTEN BY MAGDALENA LEE (COMPOSINGS) & VASSTAGO (LYRICS)
