It has always been a dream of vocalist Els Prins to start a full female Death Metal band, but she didn’t seem to find the right group of girls to make this dream reality. Until she met guitarist Simone van Straten. They got along very well and discovered their mutual love for Death Metal. Soon they realized they shared the same vision in music and decided to form a band. They crossed ways with drummer Amber de Buijzer and bass player Marjolein van den Nieuwenhuizen and started rehearsing, aiming to earn their spot in a man ruled genre. They released their first single 'Boundaries’ in July 2014, showing the world how brutal all female bands can be. Since August 2014 they are bringing their music to the stage. In May 2015 bass player Marjolein and Sisters Of Suffocation parted their ways and Puck Wildschut became the new bass player.
Sisters of Suffocation contains members studying at the Metal Factory (world’s first metal academy). They are coached by Johan van Stratum (Stream Of Passion), Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion), Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation, Maiden UniteD), Danny Tunker (Aborted, Spawn Of Possession, Prostitute Disfigurement), Bart Hennephof (Textures), Stef Broks (Textures), Rob van der Loo (Epica, MaYan, Delain) and Boudewijn Bonebakker (Gorefest, Gingerpig).
S.O.S has shared the stage with bands as Malignant Tumour, Prophecy and Rectal Smegma. They played at Eindhoven Metal Meeting 2014 with bands such as At The Gates, Triptykon, Morbid Angel, Asphyx, Sinister, Exhumed, Ensiferum, etc.
