In 1999, American alternative metal band FULL DEVIL JACKET released its debut EP “A Wax Box To Put Your Frankenstein Heads In” selling over 75,000 copies in a short time. Under the Island/Def Jam Records A&R direction of Tom Zutaut (Guns ‘n’ Roses / Motley Crüe), F.D.J. released its first full length self-titled album FULL DEVIL JACKET in the early 2000’s gaining a cult following all over the U.S. through high energy live performances on Tattoo The Earth Tour w/ SLIPKNOT, Woodstock 99, as well as touring with bands including NICKLEBACK, CREED, SEVENDUST, TYPE O NEGAGIVE, FUEL, CHEVELLE, amongst other. Hit singles “Now You Know” and “Where Did You Go?” climbed U.S. Mainstream Rock Charts reaching #23 and #19. The band’s music video “Stain” aired regularly on MTV. Meanwhile other tracks “Wanna' Be Martyr” and “Green Iron Fist” were featured in movies and soundtracks for Scream 3 and Heavy Metal 2000.
In 2002 the band disbanded after vocalist Josh Brown suffered a drug overdose. Over the next twelve years members of the band continued to perform in other bands including award winning band DAY OF FIRE (Dove Award for ‘Album of the Year’) as well as SALIVA.
FULL DEVIL JACKET came back together to perform a benefit concert for founding member and Tennessee musical legend guitarist Mike Reaves in 2012. The concert was the first spark to ignite the reunion of FULL DEVIL JACKET. Unfortunately, Mike Reeves passed on into the light of eternity much too soon. His music, warm personality, and creativity will not be forgotten.
In 2013 the band officially reunited and began the process of writing, demoing and touring new music, which would eventually form the genesis of their anticipated new sophomore album. With the support of loyal fans F.D.J. raised money through “crowd funding” to enter the studio to begin recording with Producer Justin Rimer (12 Stones / Breaking Point).
“We set out on a journey, a band of brothers just trying to make some kick ass rock ‘n’ roll. From the high’s and low’s of relationships, to the evils in the world we live in today. I think everyone can relate to this new album - it’s got it all” states singer Josh Brown.
The brand new album and first in 12 years “Valley of Bones” will be released in early 2015 through E1 Entertainment and features new singles including “The Moment”, “We Got Love”, “Valley of Bones”, “Killers” and “What if I Say”.
