Born from the ashes of the Long Branch- based metal group ANON, Negative Sky came into existence in the Summer of 2009, with Dan Caputo (vox) and JJ Sammataro (guitar), beginning a new chapter. The initial focus of the band was to captivate a live audience. Their sense of urgency to accomplish this was so strong, that both vocalists performed with lyrics in hand, at their first show, and they completely blew the crowd away! They continued to fine tune their energetic and aggressive live show, by performing in several Tri-State area venues. They performed with such noteworthy acts as: Biohazard, Cro Mags, E Town Concrete, Life of Agony, Madball, and Vision of Disorder (VOD), to name a few. Negative Sky has also become a favorite to the listeners, as well as the DJs, at WSOU, Seton Hall’s “Pirate Radio” – the Nation’s #1 Hard Rock and Metal broadcast radio station. Although ANON was the nucleus of what became Negative Sky, the current members have long been linked together in various combinations of other projects, such as: Slowdrown, Age 9, and Backhand. Their initial incarnation included a drummer, bassist and a second vocalist. After 2 1/2 years of reestablishing themselves in the music scene, Negative Sky would go through lineup changes that enabled them to redirect their focus and bring them to the now stronger, more solid, and more streamlined squad of Dan, JJ, George Pond (bass), and Tom Fitzgibbon (Drums).

In 2013, having found comfort at their new fighting weight, the quartet proceeded to begin work on new material. After demoing a large amount of songs that had come together, the band settled on five songs to take into the studio, which would become their latest release, an EP entitled, Death of the Sun. The success of Negative Sky has been picking up steam like a freight train heading down hill and it shows no signs of slowing down.
