The resulting album took many by surprise being infused with a strong Gothic streak. None too surprising perhaps bearing in mind that SISTERS OF MERCY man Andreas Bruhn had a hand in co-writing much of the material. Included was a remake of 'Walk The Stage', originally sang by Barden on the 1983 MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP album 'Built To Destroy'. Its creative achievement would be matched by strong sales in the Far East, the record holding the no.1 spot on the Japanese import charts for a five week run.

Early 2002 found DON AIREY adding to his tally of major Rock artist credits when he replaced JON LORD in DEEP PURPLE. Voss remained active recording a further DEMON DRIVE album.

In mid 2002 a second SILVER album, retaining the same line up, and billed as 'Dreammachines' was announced for September release through Point Music. Upfront of this both Voss and Barden set an acoustic show in London on July 30th at the 12 Bar Club accompanied by JEAN BEAUVOIR of CROWN OF THORNS. In Bangkok, Thailand an ambitious salute to UFO and the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP concert slated for August 31st would also feature both Barden and Voss.

The success of the first brace of SILVER Albums spurred a third effort in 2003 entitled 'Intruder'. For this outing the band now comprised Barden, Tormé, Airey, the OZZY OSBOURNE, URIAH HEEP and RAINBOW credited bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Bertram Engel.

SILVER signed to Germany's MTM Music for a 2004 album entitled 'Addiction', this featuring a guest solo from RADIOACTIVE guitarist TOMMY DENANDER. During 2005 Michael Voss sessioned on erstwhile LYNCH MOB singer Oni Logan's solo album billed 'Stranger In A Foreign Land'. A 2005 SILVER album, 'Gold', would be so titled as to celebrate not just the band's 5th release but also Gary Barden's 50th birthday. The record included a cover version of DAVID BOWIE's 'China Girl'. Both Barden and Voss repaid the favour to TOMMY DENANDER, guesting on the track 'Hit Her Where It Hurts' on his solo album 'Taken'.
