COLOSSO is an Experimental Death Metal project started by Max Tomé in Januray 2011 at Oporto, Portugal.
The initial goal was to write an open-minded/”no-boundaries” Death Metal album (latter named Abrasive Peace). From then on, everything kind of developed on it’s own.
In late March 2011 Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork, Aborted, Scarve, Bent Sea) joined Colosso to be in charge of drums for the recording.
I truly believe death metal fans are gonna be seriously stoked with Colosso!
This is gonna be a great band and a kick ass record, I’m very proud to be a part of it!!
- Dirk Verbeuren
Although the writing of the album demo was rather fast (completed in about two months), the final recording and mix took several months to be fully completed – much due to the constant search for perfection (vocals were fully recorded twice, for instance).
Abrasive Peace was mixed and mastered by Paulo Lopes (undoubtedly one of the best rock/metal producers working in Portugal) at Soundvision Studios.
