3 закончили работу над своим новым альбомом “The Ghost You Gave to Me”. Billy Riker'a. “The Ghost You Gave to Me” показывает 3 с их самой вдохновенной стороны.

После многочисленных концертов вместе с OPETH, DREAM THEATER, PORCUPINE TREE и BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME в рамках Progressive Nation Tour, 3 вернулись домой с кучей идей. Joey Eppard, Billy Riker, Daniel Grimsland и The Gartdrumm немедленно начали записывать рождающиеся у них в голове песни, после чего “The Ghost You Gave to Me” был готов.

The Woodstock, NY-based group began touring nationally in 2003 when they hit the road with COHEED & CAMBRIA. They turned a lot of heads, winning audiences with their passion and unique brand of virtuosity. The buzz had begun, not just amongst music fans but within the industry as well.
In 2006, after the successful re-release of Wake Pig on Metal Blade Records, and the completion of their first world tour, 3 returned home to begin work on a new record. Drumming guru, Jerry Marotta (PETER GABRIEL, ELVIS COSTELLO) offered up his legendary studio and drum collection, and so the boys set up shop and recorded their masterpiece: The End Is Begun. In anticipation of the release The End Is Begun, 3 hit the road with PORCUPINE TREE in Spring 2007 touring all over the US and Canada to rave reviews.
Following the release of The End Is Begun, 3 had the honor of opening up for rock legends the SCORPIONS on their full US tour in 2008. They thrived in front of a skeptical crowd and each night ended in standing ovations. Up next was the highly successful Progressive Nation Tour with Between the Buried and Me, Opeth and the mighty DREAM THEATER. Acclaimed Dream Theater drummer and prog-music aficionado, Mike Portnoy, personally chose 3 to join the tour. Again, they left venues full of jaws on the floor as they played each night with a pure rock passion that few can equal.
Whether you can consider yourself an astute music critic or a casual fan of music, 3 will have the same effect. Joey Eppard’s unique voice will grab your heart and the band’s melodic musical soundscapes will take your soul for a ride through some of the greatest modern progressive rock music of this or any generation.
The band describes their 2009 release Revisions, as a collection that “taps the rich history of 3 by re-examining some of the earlier songs that made us who we are today. Some of them are known from early live bootlegs, others existed only on cassette and were transferred to the internet by dedicated fans. In any event, these are songs that we felt deserved a second chance, a “revision” if you will. Our passion for music is truly the common thread that binds our diverse body of work.”
3 has completed work on their new album, The Ghost You Gave to Me. The album was recorded at Applehead Studios (Coheed and Cambria, Morningwood, Straylight Run) in Woodstock, NY. This is the band’s sixth studio album since 1999 and is a massive step forward for the group. The 3 trademarks are intact – many musical peaks and valleys, bright and uplifting chorus’s alongside dark and heavy passages powered by Gartdrumm’s aggressive drumming and the acoustic/electric guitar duo of Joey Eppard and Billy Riker. The Ghost You Gave to Me is 3 at their most inspired.
Following the release of Revisions and after several tours with Porcupine Tree and an epic run on the first Progressive Nation Tour with Dream Theater, Opeth and Between the Buried and Me, 3 returned home brimming with inspiration. Joey Eppard, Billy Riker, Daniel Grimsland and The Gartdrumm immediately began creating demos of ideas that would evolve into The Ghost You Gave to Me. It wasn’t long before the songs took on a life of their own. The band found themselves growing out of the standard rock compositional format into something more cinematic in nature. Joey Eppard adds: “The songs told us where to go and the instrumentation followed. We knew this record would be our most progressive but it would be on our terms, and in our own way”.
