 Четвёртый альбом английских рокеров ещё больше поднял статус группы в глазах поклонников и снова очутился в во всех музыкальных чартах Европы, не говоря уже о том, что сама пластинка стала серебрянной в Великобритании. В связи с таким огромным успехом группа исколесила почти весь мир. Особенно успешно прошли шоу в Японии и на фестивале «Монстры Рока» в Донингтоне. Но вместе с этими событиями случилась ещё одна не самая хорошая вещь – барабанщик Пит Гилл повредил руку и был заменён старым другом Саксона, Нигелем Глокером, которому приходилось учить музыкальный материал день и ночь. Альбом «Denim And Leather» действительно стал одним из самых сильных творений банды, кроме того, опять стало заметно утяжеление общего саунда. Так получается, что от альбома к альбому - музыка коллектива становилась всё мощнее и мощнее. И хотя диск и стал неким событием в металлическом мире, но ничего сверх ординарного он не представлял. Особенно на уровне вышедших в этом году таких дисков как «Breaker» Аксепта и «Killers» Мэйденов, положение Саксона выглядело несколько удручающе, хотя «Denim And Leather» сильно выигрывал провалившемуся диску Пристов «Point Of Entry». Итак, четвёртый альбом преподнес всем слушателям ещё несколько отличных песенок, таких как открывающая культовая «Princess Of The Night», ставшая визитной карточкой группы, следующая за ней напевная «Never Surrender», весёлая «And The Band Played On», «Fire In The Sky», отличающаяся мелодичными гитарными соло партиями, ну и, конечно же, заключительная заглавная композиция «Denim And Leather», с несколько странным грузным ритмом и цепляющим припевом. Собственно, на альбоме нет вообще ничего нового, но что-то всё же заставляет слушать это людей, и думаю, что пятьдесят процентов успеха этой банды состоит в душевности музыкального материала и рок-н-ролльной зависимости от него. Данный альбом закрывал первую главу в истории Саксона – хард роковую. А вообще считается что все диски, которые вышли до концертного альбома 1982 года относятся к самой лучшей и удачной главе в истории группы. Это было время настоящей классики. В общем, если вы хотите послушать, как всё начиналось или просто послушать обыкновенный отвязный хард-н-хэви, не напрягающий современной мрачностью и модной тяжестью, то вам сюда. |
