1. Battle Of The Living Dead
The morning has come with the dawn of the sun
and the masses arise to the day.
They meet their despair in pointless travail,
lost in the maze of the world where Death is the stage.
For Mammon they live, to themselves they will give
of treasure and gluttonous
pride.
To Self they bow down, they worship their crown,
alive in the eyes of the world by Death lives inside.
Arise my friends, arise!
The sword is the spirit of life.
Awaken your souls, that you may never die,
in the Batlte of the Living Dead.
2. Behold A Pale Horse
Come and see, the end of time
The ancient seals are broken
And the mouth of Hell is opened wide.
The kingdoms rage, the nations fall
Their blasphemies were spoken
Now the God of gods has come to conquer all!
Come and see, the end of man
The prophets they have spoken
Now the Judgment Day is now at hand.
The kings will hide in the caves of the earth.
As the people lament the day of their birth.
Behold the Pale Horse rides . . .
Behold the Pale Horse rides . . .
In the blood of the night
His spectre rides the moon
His holy sword in hand
The fear of God unleashed in the land . . .
Come and see, the wrath of God
The famines , wars, diseases
The sword of Damocles has fallen.
The earth in ruins, engulfed in fire
The nightmare of the ages
Prepare O man to meet thy God!
The kings will hide in the caves of the earth.
As the people lament the day of their birth.
Behold the Pale Horse rides . . .
Behold the Pale Horse rides . . .
Behold the Pale Horse rides . . .
The Pale Horse rides . . .
3. Stygian Passage
By lightning by thunder, by gathering of winds
A chariot of silver and gold descendeth and taketh me in.
My eyes behold wonder, as I gaze on this land
To terra I bow down my head, to heaven I raise up my hands!
Thy power, Thy glory
I tow'r o'er the skies
I sail to a story
To a tale of darkness and light . . .
Through Virgo through Leo, I follow the signs
My guide to millennial past, empyrean divine
Through great constellations, Piscean domain
I race through sidereal skies, across the Stygian wave!
Thy power, Thy glory
I tow'r o'er the skies
I sail to a story
To a tale of darkness and light . . .
On Lordian winds I soar across the Stygian Passage
I see immortality cease in my course . . .
4. Golgotha (The place Of The Skull)
They placed a crown of thorns on His head
A scepter in His hand
"Hail, to the King of the Jews," they said
They did not understand.
Like a lamb to the slaughter
they led Him away as the prophets foretold.
He carried our sins and our sorrows,
to Golgotha, to the place they call the Skull.
Now Satan came to Jerusalem
"The death of God," his command
"Give us Barabbas," the people said
They did not understand.
Like a lamb to the slaughter
they led Him away as the prophets foretold.
He carried our sins and our sorrows,
to Golgotha, to the place they call the Skull.
"For dogs have compassed me
The assembly of the wicked have inclosed me
The pierced my hands and my feet
I may tell all my bones
They look and stare upon me
They part my garments among them
and cast lots upon my vesture" (Psalm 22:16-18).
Worthy is He who was slain on the cross
The Messiah, the King of the universe!
Honor and pow'r, glory and might
To the God of the skies, to the Lord of earth!
Every knee shall bow, and every tongue
shall confess the Lord . . .
"He is despised and rejected of men
A Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief,
and we hid as it were our faces from him
He was despised, and we esteemed Him not (Isaiah 53:3).
5. Father
[dedicated to Nicholas Tsamis, 1925-1985]
Father, if all I can be is a man
And all I can ask of you Father, my Father
How can I be in your plan?
Send me a sign from the heavens, in riddle or rhyme
Descend from the skies of forever, pray give me a time
For I have reached the end of the line . . .
Defender of truth and of freedom, am I living a lie?
I render my fruits to thy kingdom, pray give me a sign
For I am weak, how long can I fight?
Father, when can I see you again?
And when can I be with you Father,
You gave up your life for me then,
And when, I needed you Father . . .
When can I see you again?
And when can I be with you Father,
You gave up your life for me then,
And when, I needed a friend . . .
Father, your spirit I'm longing to bring
Through tears can I ask of you Father, my Father
To play your song through my strings . . .
Father, when can I see you again?
And when can I be with you Father,
You gave up your life for me then,
And when, I needed you Father . . .
When can I see you again?
And when can I be with you Father,
You gave up your life for me then,
And when, I needed a friend . . .
6. Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God
O my friends, my soul cries out to you from the infernal fire
How dreadful it is to suffer the fierceness and wrath of God
for one moment . . . but I must suffer it for all eternity.
There will be no end to this exquisite horrible misery
When I look forward I see a long forever,
a boundless duration before me which devours
my thoughts and terrifies my soul .
For I know certainly that I must wear out long ages,
millions and millions of ages, in wrestling and
conflicting with this divine merciless vengeance.
And when I am so done, when so many ages have
actually been spent in this manner.
In know, that this is all but a point to what remains.
[Based on Jonathan Edwards' classic homily, 1741]
It came upon me unexpected
Like a thief, Death outwitted me
O my foolishness
I was arrogant towards God and man,
pursuing my own vanities
And when I said, "All is well,"
Then, sudden destruction came upon me.
Day of the damned at the throne they stand
Sinners in the hands of the God of man.
Who is the One enthroned in the sky?
Behold it is Christ, in glory and might
Yes He, the One they crucified.
Who can withstand the weight of divine vengeance?
There is no fortress or power that can defend
us from the power of God . . .
For as wax melteth before the fire, so shall the
wicked, at the presence of the Lord.
Vengeance is mine, a thunderous rhyme
A frightening voice to the blasphemous mind
Who is He who roars from the sky?
Behold it is Him, the Conqueror of sin
Yes He, the One they crucified.
Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God
The fire awaits my soul
To the chasm of Hell I will go . . .
Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God
The fire awaits my soul
For the Devil and demons I know . . .
And who can save me now . . . I don't know.
Or who can wake me from this terror I behold.
7. Children Of The King
We are strong, we are free
Children of the King
We are in Christ, a new creation.
He is sovereign Lord and King
Of men and cherubim
He is our God, He is our glory.
By the riches of His grace,
Through His blood we have been saved
He was wounded for the sins of all the nations.
Ask the blind man who sees,
And the prisoner who is free
Who did deliver them from tyranny?
We are Children of the King
We follow Him
To Him we will sing our praise
For worthy is He who saves us!
Children of the Lamb, the God of man
Oh, we are Children of the King.
