 В феврале 1976 года увидел свет третий номерной альбом группы, названный «Run with the Pack» и ставший первым диском Bad Company, получившим в США статус «платинового». Это также их последний стопроцентно классический опус с Полом Роджерсом в роли вокалиста. Три последующих альбома не были безоговорочно одобрены публикой, по причине некоторых психоделических экспериментов и облегчения саунда в целом. Ну а потом Роджерс и вовсе покинул коллектив. А пока что, группа представила на суд общественности одну из сильнейших своих работ. Здесь есть всё, что принято считать квинтэссенцией стиля блюз-рок: энергичные боевики «Live for the Music», «Honey Child» и дурашливая «Sweet Lil' Sister», отличная кавер-версия «Young Blood» Лейбера-Столлера, запоминающаяся титульная композиция с весьма сильной партией фортепиано в исполнении Роджерса и струнными в коде, лиричные среднетемповые песни – полная светлой грусти «Silver, Blue & Gold» и куда более мрачная «Simple Man» (по общему настроению довольно похожая на песню с дебютника, давшую название группе) и, конечно же, баллады – нежная мольба о любви «Love Me Somebody», монументальная, пронизанная чувством безысходности «Fade Away» и совершенно гипнотическая «Do Right by Your Woman» с просто-таки неземным рефреном – этот мотивчик забыть практически невозможно!
В чарте Billboard этот диск занял 5-е место, и на сегодняшний день в одних только Штатах его тираж перевалил за 3 миллиона. Звукорежиссурой занимался Рон Невисон, известный по работе с The Who, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Kiss, UFO и ещё тьмой суперзвёзд, и с работой своей справился блестяще – диск записан очень качественно. Этот альбом-хит без единой слабой песни – классика рока! |
